Loyalists have been blamed for a pipebomb attack on a Catholic couple and their three children.
The family were lucky to escape injury after two potentially lethal devices were hurled at their house in Turnarobert Park in Armoy, Co Antrim early today.
Although the couple were in no doubt that the attack was sectarian they said they have no idea why they should be singled out.
One of the bombs exploded in the backyard, while a second - thrown through the kitchen window - failed to detonate. This was later made safe by army bomb experts.
A police spokesman said the attack was sectarian: "The device used was similar to other pipebombs used by loyalist paramilitaries.
"We therefore believe this to be a sectarian attack carried out on a Catholic family."
