Co Down producer Ms Ann Lyons notched up an impressive double at the Kerrygold Horse Show yesterday, bringing out her Weavers Web filly Flowing River to take the young horse supreme championship for the second year in a row.

Flowing River claimed the Laidlaw Cup at the expense of the younger colt, Gypsy Diamond, owned by Mr Joseph Allen. The filly took last year's yearling and supreme awards, but scored the hat-trick this time round, taking the two-year-old title, the filly championship and the supreme.

The filly was bred in Tina hely, Co Wicklow, by Mr Derry Rothwell, who took the Pembroke Cup yesterday for the best owner-bred entry with his three-year-old Greenhall Star Flight. Standing reserve was Bellevue Mick Flick, a two-year-old lightweight gelding, owned by Co Armagh journalist Ms Ruth Loney.

The breeders' championship went for the third time to Mr Jim Hurst of Lisbellaw, Co Fermanagh. Hurst's nine-year-old mare My Golden Bonnie, which had won the Hunter Broodmare Championship on Wednesday, came out yesterday morning to triumph in the breeders with her Golden Cliff colt foal, Golden Stardust.
