Macra na Feirme has contacted the Department of Foreign Affairs after a member of a Kilkenny group was found dead on waste ground in the Czech capital Prague at the weekend.
Members of the Callan group who were with Michael O’Leary believe that his death was suspicious and have been critical of the decision of the Prague police not to pursue a murder investigation.
Results of an autopsy on the body of Mr O’Leary (23) from Callan, Co Kilkenny, showed he had died from a combination of alcohol and mediciation.
Another member of the group, Mr Padraig McNally, was found unconscious in a public park near the city’s main tourist centre.
According to a Macra spokesman he was found to have some form of sleeping tablet in his system. Although physically recovered, Mr McNally is said to be extremely distressed over his friend’s death.
The belongings of both men were missing when they were found.
Mr O’Leary’s body is expected to be flown home on Thursday.
