A suspect in the Madrid train bombings is to be extradited to Spain after a top Italian court rejected his appeal, a Spanish court source has revealed.
Rabei Osman Sayed Ahmed, also known as "Mohamed the Egyptian", has been identified by Spain as one of the masterminds of the March 11th attacks, which killed 191 people.
Ahmed was arrested in Milan in June, and appealed against an Italian court ruling in favour of his extradition.
Judicial sources have said Ahmed is likely to be handed over to Spain while Italian investigations of charges against him in Italy continue.
