Who would have thought former British PM John Major would be such a draw? He is the speaker at the Dublin Chamber of Commerce annual dinner in the Burlington Hotel next Thursday and more than 1,000 tickets at £85 a head have been sold with several hundred on the waiting list. Major is also promoting John Major: The Autobiography, so expect a surfeit of interviews. Every guest at the Burlo, including Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, leader of the Opposition John Bruton and the host himself, Dublin Chamber president Hugh Governey, will be getting a free copy.
