A 56-year-old man who appeared at Tullamore Court yesterday charged with 39 sexrelated offences was remanded in custody with consent to bail of £1,000 to appear at Tullamore Court on October 1st.
The charges allege 28 counts of sexual assault, 10 of buggery and one of attempted buggery over a period between 1973 and 1976.
Evidence of arresting and charging the defendant was given by Sgt John Flanagan, who applied for an adjournment to enable a book of evidence to be prepared.
Judge William J. Hamill imposed reporting restrictions, prohibiting publication of the identity of the defendant or any of the alleged victims.
