A lorry driver (61) was killed when his vehicle collided with another truck in Co Westmeath today.
He died following the crash on the Castlepollard to Mullingar road at Crookedwood shortly before 10am.
A woman (59) also died following a collision between her car and a lorry in Co Meath last night.
Gardaí from Dunshaughlin Garda station are investigating the crash, which happened at Rathregan, Batterstown, shortly after 7pm. The motorist died later at Blanchardstown Hospital.

Neither of the other drivers involved in the collisions were injured.
The latest deaths take the death toll on Irish roads to 234 so far this year.
