A man and a woman have died in a crash in Co Wicklow.
The two-car crash happened on the N81 south of Blessington shortly before 1pm. The victims died when the car they were travelling in was in collision with another car. They have not been identified as yet.
The woman's body was taken to Naas General Hospital, while the man's remains were taken to Tallaght. The man driving the other car suffered minor injuries and was taken to Naas General Hospital. The N81 at Horsetownspass was closed and motorists were asked to avoid the area.
Gardaí in Co Louth are investigating two fatal crashes yesterday evening.
A man in his 20s was killed when the car in which he was a passenger lost control and crashed at Strand Road, Annagassan.
The driver of the car, which crashed at around 10pm, was taken to Louth County Hospital in Dundalk. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening.
Earlier, a pedestrian, understood to be in his 70s, was knocked down by a car on the Drogheda to Baltray Road at around 3.30pm.
He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where he was later pronounced dead. The dead man has not yet been named.
Last night, gardaí named the man killed in a crash in Roscommon yesterday morning. Paul Mulryan (23) of Lissnamult, Roscommon, died when the car he was a passenger in hit a wall at Ballygalda.
Three other men in the car were taken to Roscommon County Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
A total of 113 people have died so far this year on Irish roads.
