Gardai in Dublin have arrested a 33 year-old man following a fatal hit-and-run collision this evening which claimed the life of an elderly woman in Enniskery.
The collision happened at Killeager, The Scalp, Enniskerry shortly after 5pm.
A 79 year-old female pedestrian was fatally injured after being struck by a vehicle which failed to stop at the scene.
Gardai later arrested a 33 year-old male in connection with the incident and he is being questioned at Shankill Garda station under the provisions of Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
