Man arrested in cannabis haul

A man is due in court today in relation to a seizure of over €200,000 worth of cannabis at Dublin Airport.

A man is due in court today in relation to a seizure of over €200,000 worth of cannabis at Dublin Airport.

Some 18kgs of herbal cannabis were discovered by Customs officers in the bag of a Lithuanian man yesterday.

They were wrapped in carbon paper, foil and plastic in an effort to avoid detection.

The 27-year-old man, who had travelled from Sierra Leone via London, was arrested by Customs officers and handed over to gardaí.

Drugs worth over €4 million  have been seized at Dublin airport so far this year.
