A man has been arrested in connection with an assault that has left the victim on a life-support machine in Waterford.
The incident happened in the early hours of yesterday morning on Barker Street. It is believed the injured man was struck a number of times. He was brought to Waterford Regional hospital with head injuries and was said to be in a critical condition.
