A man has been arrested over a hit and run incident in Co Kildare last night in which a cyclist died.
The man, in his 20s, was arrested at lunch time today and is being held at Leixlip Garda Station.
The cyclist (61) was killed when a car hit him at about 8.55pm on the Kinnegad to Edenderry road, just outside of Carbury.
Gardaí are renewing their appeal for witnesses. Anyone who may have information is asked to contact Leixlip Garda station on 01-6667800.
