Gardaí yesterday arrested a 24-year-old man for questioning about a knife attack in Sligo town.

Gardaí yesterday arrested a 24-year-old man for questioning about a knife attack in Sligo town.

The 35-year-old victim of the attack on Wednesday evening underwent life-saving surgery in Sligo General Hospital, where his condition was yesterday said to be serious but stable. Gardaí sealed off a house and carried out a forensic examination of the attack scene at Langan Drive in the Cranmore estate. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sligo Garda station.
