A man (34) was badly beaten in a paramilitary-style attack in Derry city early this morning.
He was attacked by six masked men armed with iron bars at about 12.30 a.m. in the Garvagh Court area.
The victim's arms were broken, and he suffered suspected fractures to a leg and an ankle as well as cuts and bruising to his head and body.
In West Belfast a woman and her son suffered injuries to the arms, head, legs and back when they were attacked by masked men with hammers.

The men entered the house, two went upstairs and attacked the man. His mother was hurt when she tried to fend off the intruders.
The woman's husband, their daughter and a friend were unhurt in the incident.
