A 32-year-old man is expected to appear in court on Monday charged with attempted murder, following a stabbing in Newry, Co Down, overnight.
An RUC spokesman said the man in his early 30s was "seriously injured" after being stabbed in the abdomen and receiving facial injuries. The incident occurred at 1 a.m. in a flat in the Merchant's Court area of the town.
The man is being treated in hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
In a separate incident overnight at Eden Village in the Carrickfergus area, a 21-year-old man received was stabbed in the leg. The incident believed to have occurred in a pub.
