Two Limerick men were arrested after a shotgun incident on Sunday night. Two unarmed gardai arrested a man believed to be waving a double-barrelled shotgun after he ran from a pub on the Ennis Road.
Another man, understood to be his brother, was found in possession of a dagger and was also arrested and brought to Henry Street Garda station. Aged 20 and 18, and from the south side of the city, they were detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
One was released yesterday evening without charge pending further investigations, and the other was charged in relation to the incident. He was released on his own bail to appear at Limerick District Court on Thursday. According to a Garda spokesman, the two men left the pub after an argument.
