A man (41) has been charged in connection with the murder of a man found dead in his Clontarf apartment last week.
The suspect, who was arrested in Dublin city centre at 8pm on Saturday, was being held for questioning at Clontarf Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
He is expected to appear before the Dublin District Court this afternoon, charged in relation to the death of Finbar Dennehy.
The body of Mr Dennehy (50), who was single and lived alone, was found covered and lying on a couch in his apartment in the Merchamp apartment complex on Seafield Road East in Clontarf last Wednesday afternoon.
His hands were tied and a bag was over his head.
A postmortem carried out last week revealed that Mr Dennehy died of a single stab wound.
It is believed he had been dead for several days and was last seen alive the previous Saturday night or Sunday morning.
