Anna Finnegan (25) died in hospital after she was stabbed at her home at Allendale Glen in Clonsilla. She had been left at the entrance to the emergency department of James Connolly Memorial Hospital, in Blanchardstown, just after 9pm on Friday.
She was pronounced dead about 90 minutes later.
Her two children, aged two years and nine months, were asleep upstairs in the house at the time of the stabbing. Her brother, Karl Finnegan, was also injured in the attack and is in a stable condition at James Connolly hospital.
