A man was charged in Belfast yesterday with possessing two Uzi sub-machineguns and 1,500 rounds of ammunition with intent to endanger life.
Mr Charles William Stewart (30), from Disraeli Walk, in the Woodvale area, was alleged to have had the guns and ammunition in his home on Wednesday.
A detective told the Magistrates Court that when charged Mr Stewart replied: "Not guilty to possession with intent." He was remanded in custody to the Maze Court on March 26th.
