Manchester City have signed Israeli international Eyal Berkovic from Celtic in a Stg£1.5million deal.
Berkovic, 29, has agreed a four-year deal with the English First Division outfit and will join subject to passing a medical and being granted a work permit.
City manager Kevin Keegan said: "Eyal will bring additional experience and creativity to the squad."
Former England coach Keegan, who took charge of City following Joe Royle's dismissal after the club were relegated from the Premiership last season, has already brought Stuart Pearce and Simon Colissimo to Maine Road.
Berkovic, who was Celtic's record Stg£5.75million signing from West Ham in July 1999, spent most of last season on loan at Blackburn and is looking forward to helping City secure a swift return to the top flight.
He told the club's official website: "I am delighted to be joining a club with a great future and want to be part of Kevin Keegan's plans for Manchester City."
