A jury at the Central Criminal Court has found a Kilkenny man not guilty of sexually assaulting a woman in a Dublin hotel four years ago. The jury failed to reach verdicts on further charges of rape and oral rape of the woman on the same occasion and was sent away for the night by Mr Justice Carney. Earlier, the judge directed the jury to find the man not guilty of another charge of anal rape of the woman.
The 32-year-old accused man has pleaded not guilty to committing the offences on March 28th 1997 at Jurys Inn, Christchurch Place. The trial has lasted for four days.
