Man critical after Bray shooting

A man (32) is in a critical condition in hospital after being shot in Bray, Co Wicklow this morning.

Shortly after 1am two men fired a number of shots through the second floor window of an apartment complex in Richmond Hill.

The men fired a shotgun from an external stairway of the building.

The first man is described as being of average build with his face covered and was wearing a blue baseball cap, black jacket, light-grey tracksuit bottoms and white runners.

The second man is also of average build and height and wore a black top, possibly a hoody, black tracksuit bottoms and black shoes.

Gardaí arrived at the scene and found the victim seriously injured inside the apartment.

The man, understood to be a French national, was removed by ambulance to Loughlinstown Hospital before being taken to Beaumont Hospital where his condition is described as “critical”.

The scene has been preserved the services of the Garda Technical Bureau have been requested.

Anyone with information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Gardaí at Bray.
