Man critically injured in Lisburn assault

A 31-year-old man is in hospital in a critical condition following a serious assault in Co Antrim last night.

A 31-year-old man is in hospital in a critical condition following a serious assault in Co Antrim last night.

Shortly before midnight two men were seen assaulting the victim in the Chapel Hill area of Lisburn. It is believed that while the men were attacking the victim on the road a car had to swerve past the incident.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland have issued an appeal for the driver of this car to come forward and speak to them.

A spokeswoman said they are also appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity to contact them with information.
