A Belfast man accused of raping a woman beside the West Link motorway more than three years ago told police she had not "disconsented" to what happened. "She never told me not to have sex with her," Mr Craig Francis Taylor (24) claimed during interviews following his arrest.
Mr Taylor, from the Donegall Road area of Belfast, denies raping the 37-year-old mother of seven on the night of June 14th-15th, 1993.
Yesterday a Belfast Crown Court jury heard that Taylor admitted to police he "did not have a clue" who the woman was.
A detective told the court that when asked if he had had sex with the woman against her will, Mr Taylor answered: "I did not know it was against her will."
Mr Taylor is expected to go into the witness box to give evidence this morning.
