A Kerry woman has told a jury that she was on her way home at night when she was dragged by the hair and knocked to the ground by a stranger before she was forced to perform oral sex on him.

She said that during the attack she had “kind of accepted” that the man was going to rape her and was convinced he would kill her.

The accused has pleaded not guilty at the Central Criminal Court to the oral rape and sexual assault of the then 23-year-old woman in a Co Kerry town on March 18th, 2007. He has pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing the alleged victim’s handbag, purse and digital camera.

The trial continues before Ms Justice Elizabeth Dunne and a jury of three women and nine men.
