A man was killed yesterday when a stolen vehicle being driven at speed the wrong way down the Lucan by-pass crashed into his car.
The accident happened when the stolen car, a Rover 400, travelled on to the carriageway into the path of oncoming traffic. It then collided head-on with the other car, a Ford Fiesta.
The man who died was Mr Mark Bryan, of Clarinda Park East, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin, who was in his 30s. He was on his way home when the crash happened, at 2.14 a.m. A youth in the stolen car was taken to the James Connolly Memorial Hospital, Blanchardstown. Last night, his condition was described as critical.
A Garda spokesman said the car was stolen earlier in an aggravated burglary at Black rock, Co Dublin.
