The Northern Ireland Police Ombudsman has begun an investigation after a man was killed when a car and the police vehicle following it crashed in north Belfast.
Police said a number of people, including some of their officers, were taken to hospital following the crash at 10am at Hightown Road near Glengormley.
The dead man, understood to be a passenger in the civilian car, was not immediately identified.
The Ombudsman's office said it understood PSNI officers had been following the car prior to the crash. It is believed an attempt was made to stop the car by police when the collision happened.
