A post-mortem will be carried out this morning on a man who fell overboard yesterday from a supply ship to an oil rig about 100 miles west of the Aran Islands. Gardai said the man was from Tramore, Co Waterford, but his name was not released.
Gardai said marine rescue services located the man's body in the sea. It was brought by helicopter to Galway University Hospital. The body was found three miles south of the oil rig, which is owned by the Norwegian company, Statoil.
