A man in his 50s has died in a house fire in The Curragh, Co Kildare, in the second fatal fire in the area in recent days.
Gardaí at Newbridge are investigating the fire, which broke out this morning at Ballysax. The fire was discovered at 9.30am, and the body of a man in his 50s was found at the scene.
A Garda examination is due to get underway later, although gardaí are not currently treating the blaze as suspicious.
Meanwhile postmortems are to be carried out today on the bodies of two young parents killed in a house fire at the Curragh Army camp.
Darren Hanly (23) and Amanda Murphy (21) were found dead in the upstairs bedroom of their Co Kildare home at McMurrough Hill early yesterday morning.
The parents of two young boys, aged three and eight weeks, had been out celebrating the New Year just hours before they died. Their children were staying with relatives when firefighters were called to the fire at around 3am.
