A young man was drowned off Kilkee and the body of a woman was taken from a river in the Clare Glens on Saturday. Mr Cormac Hayes, of Kilrush, Co Clare, single, is believed to have fallen from an area known as the Puffin Hole on the Diamond Rocks. His body was recovered at 2.30 p.m. by the Kilkee rescue unit, and a post-mortem was carried out in Ennis General Hospital yesterday.
The woman's body was taken from the river in the Clare Glens in Co Tipperary at 11.15 p.m. on Saturday. She was from the Cappamore area and in her 50s. Foul play is not suspected, and she was being not named until her relatives are informed.
