An 18-year-old man is to appear at Dublin District Court today in connection with the killing of Mr David Sutherland in Sallynoggin, south county Dublin.
Four other men were last night still being questioned by gardaí in relation to the violent death of the 54-year-old widower.
The 18-year-old suspect who was arrested in Loughlinstown, at about midnight on Sunday, was charged at Dún Laoghaire Garda Station shortly before 7 p.m., under section 3 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997.
He will appear at the District Court in the Bridewell at 10.30 a.m. today.
The four other men are being questioned at Dún Laogharie and Blackrock Garda Stations. Three were arrested yesterday morning while gardaí were carrying out searches and a fourth man was detained later.
Mr Sutherland's body was found in a laneway at about 1.40 a.m. on Saturday at Pearse Gardens in Sallynoggin. A post-mortem confirmed he suffered severe head injuries.
He was originally from O'Rourke Park in Sallynoggin, near where his body was found, but had an address at Sheelin Park, Ballybrack, for a number of years, although he has been described as homeless.
