A former soldier who was on bail on a manslaughter charge was found hanged at his home in Limerick yesterday, Arthur Quinlan reports from Limerick. Mr Christopher Noel Troy (58), of Peter Cell, Bishop Street, had been charged with the manslaughter of his wife, Elizabeth Troy, at their home on July 8th last, and was due to appear before Limerick District Court again on September 10th.
His body was discovered at about 5.30 p.m. by a neighbour.
Mr Troy, who had served as a UN peacekeeper in the Congo and the Middle East, last reported to the Garda station yesterday morning.
