A man in his mid-fifties was fatally injured yesterday when he fell more than 60 feet. The man, who has not being named but came from Co Wexford, was a steel fixer with JMSC working at the new peat power station in Edenderry, that the deceased he had more than 30 years experience. It is thought that he may have encountered difficulties with his safety harness.
The power station is being built by Fortum, whose headquarters are in Finland. The works manager, Mr Dermot Kelly, was unavailable for comment last night.
