A man convicted of robbing Dublin publican Charlie Chawke will be sentenced today.
Larry Cummins was found guilty at the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court in June for his part of the shooting of publican Mr Chawke during an armed robbery at his premises in Dublin in 2003.
Cummins (54), from Finglas, was found guilty by the jury of causing serious harm to Mr Chawke, robbery, and possession of a shotgun with the intention to commit robbery.
He was also found guilty of two counts of possession of a shotgun with the intention of resisting arrest in Goatstown in October 2003.
The robbery happened at The Goat Grill, Goatstown on October 6th, 2003.
The court heard that Mr Chawke had got into his car outside the pub around lunchtime with a money bag. But a man holding a shotgun approached the car, demanded the bag and fired a shot into his right knee.
The publican later had to have the leg amputated.
