A man was found dead at the side of a road in Co Cork early this morning.
Gardaí initially believed the man may have been the victim of a "hit-and-run". However, it is unclear how the man died, and other possibilities are now being investigated.
He was found on the main Rathcormac to Glenville Road about three kilometres outside the village of Rathcormac, some time after 6am.
He is believed to be in his early 20s and from the local area.

The State pathologist has been called, and the scene has been sealed off for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.
