A man in his early 20s has been arrested following the seizure of two handguns and a quantity of ammunition in the Dublin area.
Gardaí made the seizure yesterday afternoon as part of an ongoing operation into the activities of Dublin based crime gangs.
The guns were discovered during a planned search of waste ground in the North Dublin inner city area.
The man was arrested yesterday evening in a follow up operation and is currently being held Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Store Street Garda station.
