A man was arrested today over a fatal shooting in Dublin last summer.

A man was arrested today over a fatal shooting in Dublin last summer.

Anthony Cannon (26), of Robert’s Street, in Dublin’s south inner city, was shot twice in the head at St Mary’s Avenue West, off Sarsfield Road, Ballyfermot, last July in an attack linked to a gang feud in the south inner city.

Garda sources said at least 11 rounds were fired. The victim, who was on bail awaiting trial on assault charges, was wearing a bullet-proof vest.

Gardaí said the arrested man, who is in his 30s, is being questioned in Ballyfermot Garda Station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
