A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the theft of papers from a Home Office civil servant's car detailing Maxine Carr 's release, according to British police.
The highly sensitive documents were stolen on Tuesday and were discovered dumped on Hampstead Heath in north London four hours later.
It was understood the documents included details of Carr 's new name, phone number and addresses of a safe house where she was expected to be held on her immediate release.
Carr, 27 was released from prison yesterday having served of her 42 months sentence for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
The former teaching assistant provided a false alibi for her then boyfriend Ian Huntley by lying to police about her whereabouts on the weekend in August 2002 when he murdered 10-year-olds Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in Soham, Cambridgeshire.
