A 30-year-old man has been taken to hospital suffering from facial injuries after he was assaulted in Dublin yesterday.

A 30-year-old man has been taken to hospital suffering from facial injuries after he was assaulted in Dublin yesterday.

The man was attacked at the Central Bank Plaza, Dame Street, Dublin at around 4am yesterday morning. He was taken St. James Hospital where he is being treated for serious facial injuries in the Intensive Care Unit.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have witnessed the attack to contact them.

They are particularly anxious to locate the driver of a silver taxi who took a fare from Dame Street around 4.20am and brought a male passenger towards the Christchurch area to contact them.
