A Donegal man accused of murdering his estranged wife was remanded in custody today amid angry scenes outside the courthouse in Donegal Town.
Mr Gary McCrea (39) was charged last Friday night with the murder of Ms Dolores McCrea (35).
A crowd of up to 200 gathered outside the court this morning for Mr McCrea's remand hearing. They hurled abuse as the accused was led away.
Mr McCrea of Ballybuglin, Ballintra, was remanded in custody to Harristown court in Co Roscommon on February 13th.
This morning's scenes came following similar scenes last Friday night when a crowd of some 200 people surrounded the car in which he was taken away after being remanded in custody by Judge Mary Devins after a special sitting of the court.
Det Garda Dessie Sheridan told the court hearing last Friday that he had charged Mr McCrea at 8.02 p.m. with the murder of Ms McCrea. After being cautioned, the defendant made no reply.
Mrs McCrea's skeletal remains were found at Ballybuglin, on the January 22nd.
