A man appeared before a special sitting of Limerick District Court today in connection with the seizure of almost £200,000 worth of cannabis resin yesterday morning.
The 40-year-old man from Limerick was charged under the mis-use of drugs act, a garda spokesman said.
He was arrested in St Mary's Park in the city just after 10 a.m. yesterday while carrying 20 kilos of the drug.
He was detained at Henry Street Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

A follow-up search yesterday led to the seizure of 24 kilos of cannabis resin and five kilos of what a Garda spokesman described as "white powder" on waste ground at St Munchin’s Street in the St Mary's Park area.
