A man whose riding career ended as a result of injuries suffered after a horse was “spooked” and fell on him has been awarded €126,000 damages by the High Court.
Robin Quinn’s wrist was broken and his right arm injured when the horse he was riding was “spooked” and then went out of control. Making the award, Mr Justice Peter Charleton said the horse would not have gone so out of control were it not that an incident a few days earlier had reinforced fear already present.
