A man was shot and injured in Co Kildare last night.
The 32-year-old was shot in the arm as he sat in the carpark of Delaney's Restaurant in Ballintogher, Monasterevin at about 11.30pm.
“The injured party made his way to Kildare Garda station, where he reported the incident,” a Garda spokesman said.
He was then taken to Naas Hospital for treatment and later transferred to Tallaght Hospital. His injuries are not life threatening.
Gardaí in Kildare have appealed for witnesses to the shooting to contact them.
A Garda spokesman said they are particularly interested in the movements of a large silver saloon car that was involved in the incident.
He said the car arrived at the scene from the Monasterevin direction and left in the Ballybrittas direction. "This car may have been driven in an erratic manner before or after the incident," he said.
