A Dublin man has been jailed for 2 1/2 years for a robbery in which two men threatened to kill a shop assistant. Graham Mooney (22) of Sheepmoor Lawn, Blanchardstown, pleaded guilty to robbery at an Esso filling station on Sarsfield Road, Ballymun, on September 6th, 1998. Sgt Gabriel O'Gara told the court that Mooney acted as a lookout after first buying a loaf of bread in the station's shop.
Two co-accused later jumped behind the shop counter and shouted "Don't do anything or we'll kill you". They took £250 from a part-time employee and fled with Mooney in a van. Judge Elizabeth Dunne backdated Mooney's sentence to March 25th this year, for review in January 2001.
