A man was killed and a woman seriously injured in a crash in Co Donegal yesterday. The crash took place at Moyle, Newtowncunningham, on the Letterkenny to Derry road, at 2.15pm, when a car collided with a tractor.
The man who died was in his mid-20s and the driver of the car. The injured woman, also in her 20s, was a passenger. She was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital.
Meanwhile, also in Donegal the funeral takes place today of 19-year-old Michael Flanagan who died when the car he was driving crashed into a deserted cottage outside Ballybofey on the main road to Donegal town on Saturday.
The young man, from nearby Cashelnavean, Ballybofey, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 3.05am crash.
Gardaí said no other vehicle was involved.
Michael, who had a sister and two brothers, will be buried in Drumboe cemetery after a requiem Mass at St Mary's Church, Stranorlar.
