A Dublin man has been charged with the attempted murder of his girlfriend in England, the High Court has been told. Mr Alan James Kelly, of Rossfield Drive, Tallaght, was wanted on an extradition warrant by the British police, Mr Justice Flood was told yesterday.
His counsel, Mr Ross Maguire, said Mr Kelly faced extradition proceedings in the District Court on Friday and had been offered his own bail of £1,000 with an independent surety of £5,000.
The judge said he would consider granting Mr Kelly bail on Friday, following the District Court hearing, if he was willing to stay away from his girlfriend, Ms Tracey Anne Hand, of Ballyfermot, surrender his passport and sign on daily at Tallaght Garda station.
