Gardaí are questioning a 31-year-old man in connection with an attempted armed robbery in Dublin last night.
Officers were alerted by staff at a pharmacy on the South Circular Road yesterday that a masked man with a handgun was on the premises.
A Garda spokeswoman said that two officers who were on patrol tackled the raider and managed to disarm him before making the arrest.
The 31-year-old man is being detained at Kevin Street Garda Station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
