A former British soldier held for questioning about the murder of a baby girl at an army camp in Northern Ireland 40 years ago has been released.
Police in Belfast confirmed said the 60-year-old man, who was arrested in Staffordshire, had been freed, and that a file on the case would be sent to the Public Prosecution Service.
The man detained on Wednesday and interviewed about the murder in 1966 of nine-month-old Lynda Cochrane at Ballykinlar army Camp, near Newcastle, Co Down.
