A man has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a 35-year-old Romanian nurse whose body was found last Thursday.
Mihalache Marian (48), a Romanian solicitor with no fixed address in Ireland, appeared in Dún Laoghaire District Court this morning charged with the murder of Loradena Pricajan at an apartment on the campus of the Irish Management Institute in Sandyford on January 28th.
Detective Sergeant Eugene Stapleton of Dundrum Garda station gave evidence of charging Mr Marian last night. He said the accused, when charged, said: “I did not kill Loradena Pricajan and I have nothing else to say”.
There was no application for bail and Mr Marian was remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court on February 10th.
Judge Anne Ryan ordered that he be psychiatrically assessed and receive appropriate medical treatment.
The court also appointed an interpreter for Mr Marian and granted him free legal aid.
