Man remanded over Ipswich murders

A 48-year-old man was remanded in custody to May 1st when he appeared in court today accused of murdering five prostitutes.

A 48-year-old man was remanded in custody to May 1st when he appeared in court today accused of murdering five prostitutes.

Steve Wright, of Ipswich, Suffolk, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court charged with the murders of Gemma Adams (25) Tania Nicol (19) Anneli Alderton (24) Paula Clennell (24) and Annette Nicholls (29).

Wright, a former forklift truck driver, was charged on December 21 after being arrested at his home on December 19th.

The five women were found dead near villages south of Ipswich during a 10-day period earlier this month. They all worked as prostitutes in Ipswich.
